"I will play to the people. I don't play to the Government of anything... I'm playing to human beings, and to deny me that right and turn music into some kind of political joystick is quite repulsive to me, and really, really wrong."

"And hello, Arab countries you ain't inviting me. I've got no prejudices playing both sides of those borders..."

He also talks about Israel - amongst many other things - on Sky News this Sunday, July 18th, at approx 11.45am. Not to be missed!

You can still listen to John's interview with Vic Galloway on BBC Scotland from July 5th via BBC iPlayer. John discusses the possibility of the band recording a self-funded album at the end of the year and looks forward to next week's show in Glasgow.

ALiFE 2009 on sale at Amsterdam and UK dates!

The Brixton Academy 2009 ALiFE CD set will be on sale on the PiL tour at UK dates and also at Amsterdam, Paradiso tomorrow (Tuesday, July 13th). The CD set will include the December 2009 Brixton Academy show recorded over 2 discs, plus a bonus 3rd disc including a video interview with John Lydon, as he discusses his career and return of the band. This disc also includes behind the scenes video footage and high quality exclusive photographs of the band taken at the bands rehearsal sessions.

Only the Brixton Academy show will be available, and no new shows will be recorded, however, the disc will be on sale at all UK shows and also online via the Concert Live website for home delivery.

Concert Live will also be selling these must have additions to any fans collection at the PiL show tomorrow night at the Paradiso in Amsterdam!

NYC show to be filmed for PiL documentary!
AND PiL to appear on NBC, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Show!

As PiL continue to make their rounds across North America garnering uniformly rave reviews on their first U.S. tour in 18 years, the group has announced they’ll will appear on NBC TV’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Show” on Monday, May 17 (12:35 AMET-PT/11:25 PMCT).
 
They will also film their entire performance at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on Wednesday, May 19 for a forthcoming PiL documentary directed by Alex Mar and produced by Artists Public Domain.

DJ Justin Miller of DFA Records will open the Williamsburg show.
 
The previous night’s show (Tuesday, May 18) is still scheduled for Terminal 5. All ticket holders for Wednesday, May 19 will receive a notification from Ticketmaster with a choice of keeping their tickets for the Williamsburg show or transferring them to the Tuesday, May 18 show at Terminal 5.  The deadline to make this decision is end of day on Friday, May 7.  Any ticket buyer who doesn’t respond to the contact email from Ticketmaster will have their tickets automatically refunded.  As of Tuesday, May 4, any new tickets purchased for Wednesday, May 19 will be for the Music Hall of Williamsburg show.

In conjunction with the concert promoters PiL have arranged for tickets for the cancelled Denver show to be valid for tomorrow's (Monday) Kansas City show at the Midland Theatre. Denver refunds are available from point of purchase.

John Lydon and PiL would like to apologise again for the Denver cancellation but circumstances were out of their control.

It's been a very long time since PiL played Kansas or Denver - and as you'll see on the PiL Tour Reports page - these shows are something very special and not to be missed.

Tickets will also be available on the door for purchase. Kansas City, Midland Theatre, USA, April 26th 2010.

 

 

Two fans disappointed PiL fans outside the Ogden Theater Denver on Saturday. The couple flew in from Houston for the gig. Hopefully they can now make the Kansas show on Monday.

Denver Show Cancelled Due to Adverse Weather

Unfortunately Public Image Ltd have had to cancel tonight's (Saturday) appearance in Denver due to adverse weather conditions and the resulting closure of the Interstate 80.

John Lydon and PiL would like to apologise to everybody who had planned to attend the concert.

Due to severe ice on the road the band and crew were stuck in traffic for over 10 hours on the I-80 outside Rawlins, Wyoming and are now unable to make it to the venue on time. Sorry, they did everything they could, but it is now impossible.

Ticket refunds are available at point of purchase.

PiL's performance at tonight's (16th) Coachella Festival will be filmed for internet broadcast via the official Coachella webcast. As previously stated the band will be headlining the Outdoor Theatre Stage and are due on stage at 11.20pm (PT) and will play for 80 minutes.

The performance will be either be screened live or a delayed recording will be broadcast at some point in the next 3 days. 3 songs will later be added to the Coachella website.

PiL make their first US TV appearance in 18 years tomorrow – Wednesday, April 7th – on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles. The band will be performing 2 live songs on the outdoor concert stage. The show airs 12.05 PT / 11.05 CT. See the Jimmy Kimmel Live website for more details.

I'd like to offer a reward for anyone getting my guitar back to me. It is not a very valuable guitar, in fact it has been so re-modgered over the years that it is in fact unique - and nobody will ever be able to get up onstage and use it without it being clearly clear that it is mine, stolen...

Place of Stealing: out of a Vauxhall car. Wandsworth, London approx 1:30pm on Wednesday 17th February.

Description: ESP telecaster, mushroom colour with red tortoiseshell scratchplate (unusual!)
Block of wood inserted behind the bridge (unusual!)
Fills in where once was a Kahler whammy bar (unusual!)
ESP rubbed out on the neck, but faintly visible if you look (unusual!)
Super-duper custom Australian hand-made pickups (unusual!)
Weird triangular neck profile (unusual!)

Stealer an utter Fekker who wont get a decent price for it as it is such a dog's dinner of a guitar. But... it is my guitar and sounded good with PiL!!!

ALiFE 2009 Re-pressed!

Due to enormous demand the limited edition PiL ALiFE 2009 instant live CD's sold out, HOWEVER, Concert Live have re-pressed the set and they are now available to order again via the Concert Live website for home delivery.

CD's are available from the December 2009 shows at Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and London Brixton Academy.

Please note orders will not be shipped from Concert Live until 24th February.

The previously mentioned John Lydon Culture Show special debuts on BBC4 this Tuesday, January 5th. The show is an expanded version of the 10 minute PiL feature on The Culture Show from December.

As well as additional footage, John talks about 'Flowers of Romance', Shakespeare, Mozart, and his childhood. The show will be repeated on BBC4 and will also be available on the BBC iPlayer service for 7 days. 'John Lydon - A Culture Show Special', BBC4 Tuesday 5th January 22.30-23.00.

PiL wrapped up their long awaited return on Thursday at the Camden, Electric Ballroom. Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth, Bruce Smith, and of course, John Lydon proved all the doubters wrong. The gigs were absolutely stunning, a 2 hour set featuring a wide variety of songs from all eras. "Public Image. Proper music for proper people"
