This Is PiL- The release of the album This Is PiL earlier this year resulted in the below response from various media:

MOJO Magazine- 4 out of 5
"It's simply a joy to hear Lydon in fine voice, getting stuck into thorny matters with his own unique, raw nerve gusto, backed by a cookin' band"

The Times-  4 out of 5
"Never mind the Pistols- this PiL is worth taking

The Guardian-  4 out of 5 stars
...."You're more often struck by Lydon's determination to keep pushing forward into uncharted territory, to head as he puts it on the track of the same name, for deeper water"

The Quietus
"This is a 63 minute chunk of music that wavers marvelously from the irresistible, the effortlessly accessible to the downright weird"

Loud & Quiet Magazine- 8 out of 10
"This Is PiL is an evolution; a step forward with eyes locked straight ahead, no heads looking back at past glories"

Q Magazine- 4 out of 5
"Representing the experimental instincts of Lydon the teenage Can fan, it sees him putting his ire to use over spectrally funky tracks warped and shaped by Lu Edmonds's byzantine guitars"

Drowned In Sound- 8 out of 10
...."It comfortably manages to be what a comeback strives to be but seldom is; adventurous, celebratory and - above all - adding to an already admirable legacy"

Music OMH.com -  5 out of 5
"This is Public Image Ltd at its best. This record is good. Outrageously good"
"He sounds vital on these songs, so goddamn vital, a man and a band with more ideas than they know what to do with"
"Buy this record. This is PiL. Isn’t that enough for you?"

Widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time PiL's music and vision earned them 5 UK Top 20 Singles and 5 UK Top 20 Albums. With a shifting line-up and unique sound John Lydon guided the band from their debut album 'First Issue' in 1978 through to 1992's 'That What Is Not', before a 17 year hiatus.  John then resurrected PiL in 2009 playing live worldwide. Now after 20 years yet another new and unique chapter has unfolded in the shape of new PiL material.
